I hope you are doing okay, we haven't heard from you in a while. One thing that I've used that I thought you and your readers might benefit from is the ChiliPad - a mattress pad that lets you cool down (or heat up) your bed, mine lets me set any temperature between 46 and 118 degrees. It's been great for days when the weather and my joints don't agree.

I was able to get off prednisone pretty well until I got down to 3 mg. I was already on enbrel and naproxen (but not methotrexate because I was breast feeding), but every time I tried to reduce further, within a few days there would be a flare in my fingers. I was finally able to do it by going down 0.25 or 0.5 mg per MONTH!! There would be tiny hints of flare, but my doctor was generous with percoset.

And forget school, kids, or the RA--prednisone alone made me a ball of anxiety and stress!

Hi Seeking Solace - today is a better day. I have gone down on the steriods some, I just wish I could get off them faster. If he can get the RA under control with the other drugs then I can it isn't a problem to be off the steriods, I think the pregnancy has just left my RA much worse than it was before making this whole process harder, unfortunately. I haven't talked to him about another biologic, that's a good question.

Sorry to hear about your flare. I hope you are doing better.

I was curious about how the Humira was working. It seems counter productive since you are still on the steriods. Will your doctor consider another biologic?
